These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the Police Car Pound Recovery website and to any vehicle recovery, police or local authority pound recovery, breakdown or related services we provide. By accessing this website, contacting us or booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully before using our website or requesting any services. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use this website or our services.

In these Terms:

  • “We”, “us”, “our” means Police Car Pound Recovery.
  • “You”, “your” means the person who uses this website, contacts us or books our services, and any person on whose behalf a booking is made.
  • “Services” means any vehicle recovery, police or local authority pound recovery, accident recovery, breakdown assistance, jump start, fuel delivery or related services we agree to provide.
  • “Vehicle” means the car, van, motorcycle or other vehicle in respect of which you request our Services.
  • “Website” means https://policecarpoundrecovery.co.uk/ and any related pages under our control.

We provide vehicle recovery and related services, including but not limited to police or local authority pound recovery, accident and breakdown recovery, jump starts and fuel delivery within Greater London and surrounding areas, as described on our Website.

We will use reasonable care and skill when providing the Services. Any estimated arrival times are estimates only and are not guaranteed, as they depend on traffic, road conditions, police or pound procedures and other factors beyond our control.

We may decline or discontinue a Service if, in our reasonable opinion, it would be unsafe or unlawful to proceed, or if the Vehicle is not suitable for recovery with the equipment available.

You can request our Services by phone, email or via any contact options shown on our Website. When you make a booking, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

If you need to change or cancel a booking, you must tell us as soon as possible. We reserve the right to apply a call-out or cancellation charge, particularly where our driver is already on the way or has arrived at the pick-up location or pound.

We may refuse or cancel a booking if you or anyone at the scene behaves in an abusive, threatening or unsafe manner, if the Vehicle is overloaded or otherwise unsuitable for safe recovery, or if you do not have the documents required by the police or pound to release the Vehicle.

We will usually give you a price estimate or quote before confirming a booking, based on the information you provide. Additional charges may apply if the actual situation differs from what was described, or if extra time, mileage or services are required.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, payment is due in full at the time the Service is provided, before the Vehicle is released. We will tell you which payment methods we accept at the time of booking or on arrival.

Charge typeSummary
Call-out and recovery feeCore fee for attending your location or the pound and recovering your Vehicle.
Waiting timeAdditional charges may apply if our driver has to wait beyond a reasonable period, for example while documents are checked at the pound.
Storage or pound feesFees charged by the police, local authority or pound are your responsibility and are not included in our prices.
Extra mileage or tollsAdditional costs may apply for destinations beyond the agreed distance, toll roads, congestion or clean air zones.
Out-of-hours surchargesHigher rates may apply during nights, weekends or bank holidays. We will explain these before you confirm a booking where possible.

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when you contact us or make a booking, including the Vehicle’s location, condition, type and any special circumstances.

For police or local authority pound recoveries, you are responsible for bringing all documents required by the pound (such as ID, proof of ownership, insurance and MOT, where applicable) and for following any instructions given by the police or pound staff.

You must ensure that the Vehicle is, as far as you are aware, safe to move and legally permitted to be recovered or transported. You must not ask us to do anything that would be unlawful or unsafe, including driving or towing a Vehicle that is not roadworthy, taxed or insured, unless the law allows movement in the specific circumstances.

We will take reasonable care when handling and transporting your Vehicle. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability we may have to you where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Subject to the above, we will not be liable for any loss or damage that was not foreseeable when the contract for Services was made, or for any loss of profits, loss of business, or indirect or consequential loss. Our liability for loss of or damage to the Vehicle (where proven to be caused by our negligence) will be limited to the reasonable cost of repair or the Vehicle’s market value at the time, whichever is lower.

We are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings left in the Vehicle, or for any charges imposed by third parties such as pounds, police, local authorities, insurers or storage providers.
